Built from 548,694 Form D filings and 271,940 identified principals, through 2026-08-28. A fund appears here when no principal named on its filing appears on any earlier Form D in that record.
The classification is ours, not the SEC’s. “First-time manager” describes filing history — it is not an official designation and says nothing about anyone’s experience or ability.
We check ourselves against EDGAR full-text search, independently of our own corpus. Current measured precision: 98% on 85 samples (we do not publish below 95%). We will still get some wrong.
